Co-Founder & Producer

An actor, writer and director based in Whitstable, Charlie founded Scallywag Studios alongside Benedict after they met at drama school, with the ambition of bringing original stories to theatre that drove audiences to hysterics and ignited conversation. Charlie wrote, co-directed and co-produced Scallywag's previous two sold out shows 'Stamp' and 'That Sweet Pure Nectar'. His next play, 'Folly To Be Wise' debuts at The Hen & Chickens this December, 3rd-7th.

Having gained a BA in Drama and Theatre Studies, with a specialisation in directing, from Trinity College Dublin, Benedict trained at Fourth Monkey, before founding Scallywag Studios with Charlie, and going on to direct all three of their core productions. Alongside directing, Benedict is an actor and technician, an award winning sound designer, and will be a co-producer on the 2025 edition of FreshFest at the Old Red Lion.
